TKT (TEACHING KNOWLEDGE TEST)

It is an affordable internationally recognized teaching qualification for teachers of primary, secondary and adult English learners. TKT Modules 1, 2 and 3 are the core modules that test theoretical knowledge of language teaching. You can take all of the modules of TKT, or just choose the ones that meet your needs. TKT offers total flexibility in how and when you take the modules and you receive a certificate from the University of Cambridge for each module that you do.

The TKT courses enable prospective teachers to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to successfully take the core modules of the Teaching Knowledge Test. Whether you are an experienced teacher who wants to maximize your skills or a teacher with less experience who wants to enhance your career opportunities, you can now take TKT Modules 1,2 and 3 courses offered at the IES study centre .There are no formal requirements to join the course but you should have an intermediate level of English.

TKT MODULE 1 LANGUAGE AND BACKGROUND TO LANGUAGE LEARNING AND TEACHING

This is an 18-hour course for new or experienced teachers. Module 1 covers describing language and language skills, and background to language learning and teaching.

TKT MODULE 2 LESSON PLANNING AND USE OF RESOURCES FOR LANGUAGE TEACHING

This is a 12-hour course for new or experienced teachers. Module 2 covers planning and preparing a lesson or sequence of lessons, and selection and use of resources for language teaching

TKT MODULE 3 MANAGING THE TEACHING AND LEARNING PROCESS

This is a 12-hour course for new or experienced teachers. Module 3 covers teachers and learners language in the classroom, classroom management, and managing the teaching and learning process.

Armed with a TKT certification proves that you are familiar with different teaching methodologies, you are aware of how to use teaching resources effectively, understand key aspects of lesson planning and is you are able to use various classroom management methods to meet a variety of needs.
